Disclosure: Eternal Elixir makes supplements, and two of the eight products in this comparison are ours. Eternal Elixir makes NMN 500mg, and it is our pick. Every figure for the other six products comes from their own labels, product pages and lab reports, read in September 2026, and every study figure comes from the published paper. No brand paid to be included. Here is how we write and review content.
The best NAD+ supplements for 2026 almost all sell one of two building blocks: nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) or nicotinamide riboside (NR). Your body turns both into NAD+, a coenzyme that cells use in energy metabolism and many enzyme reactions. The bottles look similar, but the dose per serving runs from 300 mg to 1,200 mg and the price per 100 mg of precursor varies about fourfold. We lined up eight products sold in the US and put every one on the same basis.
There is also new evidence to factor in. In January 2026, the first head-to-head human trial of NMN against NR was published, and it found the two raised blood NAD+ by similar amounts. That changes how much weight the old “which molecule is better” argument deserves.
Quick answer
Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg is our pick: 500 mg of NMN per capsule, 90 capsules at one capsule per serving, $49.99, which is $0.56 a day and $0.11 per 100 mg of NMN. A 500 mg daily serving sits inside the 300 to 900 mg range tested in an 80-person, 60-day NMN dose trial, and the bottle lasts three months.
If you prefer NR, Tru Niagen Pro 1000mg is the NR product used in the 2026 head-to-head trial, at $116 for 30 servings. Toniiq NMN 1200 matches our cost per 100 mg at 1,200 mg a serving and publishes a lot result, and our own Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg is the lowest-cost NR per 100 mg in this comparison.
Best NAD+ supplements 2026: the eight compared
Every row uses the serving on the product’s own label, with prices from each seller’s US site as of Sep 2026. Cost per 100 mg of precursor is the like-for-like number, because a low bottle price can hide a small serving.
| Rank | Product | Precursor per serving | Servings | Price | Cost per serving | Cost per 100 mg of precursor | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg | 500 mg NMN (1 capsule) | 90 | $49.99 | $0.56 | $0.11 | Our pick: a studied daily dose, three months per bottle |
| 2 | Tru Niagen Pro 1000mg | 1,000 mg NR (2 capsules) | 30 | $116.00 | $3.87 | $0.39 | The NR used in the head-to-head trial |
| 3 | Toniiq NMN 1200 | 1,200 mg NMN (2 capsules) | 30 | $39.97 | $1.33 | $0.11 | A high NMN dose with a published lot result |
| 4 | Thorne NiaCel 400 | 415 mg NR hydrogen malate plus 85 mg betaine (1 capsule) | 60 | $74.00 | $1.23 | $0.30 | Drug-tested athletes who want NR |
| 5 | Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg | 500 mg NR chloride (1 capsule) | 60 | $59.99 | $1.00 | $0.20 | The lowest-cost NR per 100 mg here |
| 6 | Renue By Science NMN Liposomal Capsules | 500 mg NMN (2 capsules) | 45 | $64.95 | $1.44 | $0.29 | Buyers who want a liposomal capsule |
| 7 | Wonderfeel Youngr NMN | 900 mg NMN plus co-actives (2 capsules) | 30 | $88.00 | $2.93 | $0.33 | A high NMN dose with added antioxidants |
| 8 | Life Extension NAD+ Cell Regenerator | 300 mg NR chloride (1 capsule) | 30 | $40.50 | $1.35 | $0.45 | The 300 mg NR dose from the Niagen trial |
Cost per 100 mg of precursor runs from $0.11 to $0.45. Two NMN products share the bottom of that range, ours and Toniiq’s, and Toniiq’s subscription price takes it lower still, to $0.08. Among NR products, ours costs $0.20 per 100 mg against $0.30 to $0.45 for the others. Per day, ours is the cheapest product here to run at its label serving, because one capsule is one serving and a bottle lasts 90 days.

NMN or NR: does the precursor matter?
For years, the choice between NMN and NR rested on indirect evidence. NR had more published human trials, largely because one patented ingredient, Niagen, funded many of them. NMN had its own trials but no direct comparison.
That changed with Christen 2026 in Nature Metabolism. Researchers at Nestlé Research randomized 67 healthy adults to 1,000 mg a day of NR (Tru Niagen Pro), 1,000 mg a day of NMN, 500 mg a day of nicotinamide or placebo, for 14 days, and analyzed 65. Whole-blood NAD+ rose by 49.4 µM with NR and 43.1 µM with NMN compared with placebo, roughly doubling from baseline, while nicotinamide did not raise it. The authors described the NR and NMN effects as comparable. The study was open-label and short, but it is the best direct evidence available.
So the practical differences now come down to dose, price per milligram and label quality rather than a clear winner between molecules. If you want the deeper single-molecule view, our NMN supplement comparison covers NMN products in detail, and our NMN vs nicotinamide riboside guide goes further into the two precursors.
How we ranked these eight NAD+ supplements
Eternal Elixir makes NMN 500mg, and it sits first as our pick, for the reasons and with the limits set out in its entry. We did not send any product to a lab. Every competitor figure comes from its own label, product page or published lot report. The other seven are ordered on four things:
- Link to the research: does the product, or its ingredient at the same dose, appear in a published human trial?
- Published testing: does the seller show a lot result or carry an independent testing mark?
- Cost per 100 mg of precursor: the price divided by the total NMN or NR in the bottle.
- Label clarity: is every active listed with its amount, and is the serving clear?
Tru Niagen Pro ranks second as the NR product from the head-to-head trial, with an NSF Certified for Sport mark on its page. Toniiq follows on dose, price and a published lot result. Thorne’s NiaCel carries the same sport-testing mark at a lower price than Tru Niagen. Our NR, Renue’s liposomal capsules, Wonderfeel’s combination formula and Life Extension’s 300 mg NR follow on the same criteria.
1. Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg: our pick
Key facts: 500 mg NMN per capsule, 90 capsules, one capsule per serving, 90 servings, $49.99 (regular price $64.99), $0.56 per serving, $0.11 per 100 mg. Other ingredients: rice flour and a cellulose capsule.
Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg is a plain, single-ingredient NMN capsule. One capsule gives 500 mg, a daily amount inside the range human trials have tested: 300 to 900 mg a day in the 60-day Yi trial and 300 to 1,200 mg in the Liao runners’ trial. At one capsule a serving, a 90-capsule bottle lasts three months, which is why it costs $0.56 a day, the lowest daily cost in this comparison. Our product page states the evidence level for NMN and says plainly that the product has not been shown to extend human lifespan.
Here is the case against it. There is no published trial of this finished product. The strongest NAD+ result, from the head-to-head trial, used 1,000 mg of NMN a day, twice our serving. NR has more published human trials behind it overall. And Toniiq NMN 1200 matches our cost per 100 mg with a larger serving and a published lot result, and its subscription price is lower. We do not link a lot certificate on our product page.
Who it suits:
- Buyers who want a single-ingredient NMN capsule at a daily amount trials have tested
- Anyone who prefers one capsule a day and fewer reorders
- People adding resveratrol, NR or spermidine from us, so everything arrives in one delivery
Who should skip it:

2. Tru Niagen Pro 1000mg: the NR from the head-to-head trial
Key facts: 500 mg NR chloride (Niagen) per capsule, 60 capsules, two capsules per serving, 30 servings, $116.00, $3.87 per serving, $0.39 per 100 mg. Subscription saves 20%, which brings it to $0.31 per 100 mg.
Tru Niagen Pro is the NR product used in the Christen 2026 trial, where 1,000 mg a day raised blood NAD+ by 49.4 µM over 14 days. The Niagen ingredient also sits behind much of the wider NR literature, including an 8-week trial in which 100, 300 and 1,000 mg a day raised whole-blood NAD+ by 22%, 51% and 142% within two weeks, with no difference in adverse events from placebo. The product page carries the NSF Certified for Sport mark and showed 4.6 out of 5 from 205 reviews when we checked. Our Tru Niagen review covers the full range.
The drawback is cost. At $3.87 a serving it is the most expensive product here per day, and about three and a half times ours per 100 mg of precursor.
Suits: buyers who want the exact NR product and dose from the head-to-head trial. Skip it if: cost per day matters.
3. Toniiq NMN 1200: high dose, published lot result
Key facts: 600 mg NMN per capsule, 60 capsules, two capsules per serving (1,200 mg), 30 servings, $39.97, $1.33 per serving, $0.11 per 100 mg. Subscription saves 25%, bringing it to $29.98, which is $1.00 per serving and $0.08 per 100 mg.
Toniiq’s NMN 1200 matches our cost per 100 mg at one-time prices and beats it on subscription. It also publishes lot results: the certificate for lot 26110N113 reports 1,483.53 mg of NMN per two-capsule serving against a minimum of 1,200 mg. The page states a purity of at least 99.5% and showed 4.9 out of 5 from 89 reviews when we checked. Our Toniiq NMN review goes further.
The trade-off is the dose. A 1,200 mg serving is at the top of the tested range: the Yi trial, which measured blood NAD+, stopped at 900 mg, and the Liao trial that used 1,200 mg measured fitness rather than NAD+. A bottle also lasts one month rather than three.
Suits: buyers who want a high NMN dose and a lot result they can read. Skip it if: you want a 500 mg serving from one capsule.
4. Thorne NiaCel 400: NR for drug-tested athletes
Key facts: 415 mg nicotinamide riboside (as hydrogen malate) and 85 mg betaine per capsule, 60 capsules, one capsule per serving, 60 servings, $74.00, $1.23 per serving, $0.30 per 100 mg of NR as labeled.
NiaCel 400 carries the NSF Certified for Sport mark, which matters if you are tested for banned substances. One capsule a day and a two-month bottle make it simple to run. Note that it uses NR hydrogen malate rather than the NR chloride used in most published NR trials, so the milligram figures are not directly interchangeable. Our Thorne review covers the brand’s testing and returns policy.
Suits: athletes who want NR with sport testing. Skip it if: you want the NR chloride form used in most trials.
5. Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg: the lowest-cost NR here
Key facts: 500 mg NR chloride per capsule, 60 capsules, one capsule per serving, 60 servings, $59.99, $1.00 per serving, $0.20 per 100 mg. Other ingredients: rice flour and a cellulose capsule.
Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg is our NR option. It uses the chloride form found in most published NR trials, and 500 mg a day sits inside the 100 to 1,000 mg range of the 8-week Niagen dose trial. Per 100 mg of NR it costs about half of Tru Niagen Pro and two-thirds of Thorne NiaCel. It is not the same branded ingredient as Tru Niagen, there is no trial of this finished product, and we do not link a lot certificate, which is why it ranks below Tru Niagen, Toniiq and Thorne here.
Suits: buyers who have chosen NR and want the lowest cost per milligram. Skip it if: you want the exact branded NR from the trials.
6. Renue By Science NMN Liposomal Capsules: a liposomal capsule
Key facts: 250 mg NMN per capsule, two capsules per serving (500 mg), 45 servings, $64.95, $1.44 per serving, $0.29 per 100 mg. Other ingredients: hypromellose capsule, microcrystalline cellulose, sunflower lecithin and rice flour.
Renue competes on delivery. It wraps NMN in liposomes and lists third-party results by batch on the product page, covering potency, heavy metals and microbiology. The page cites a 4-week trial in 15 men aged 40 and over (5 per group) in which liposomal NMN raised blood NAD+ by 84%. That trial used a liposomal NMN supplied by another company, not Renue’s own capsule, and its groups were very small. The page showed 4.4 out of 5 from 200 reviews when we checked. Our Renue By Science NMN review and our liposomal NMN vs capsules comparison look at the format in detail.
Suits: buyers who specifically want a liposomal capsule and accept the premium. Skip it if: you want the lowest cost per milligram.
7. Wonderfeel Youngr NMN: high dose plus antioxidants
Key facts: per capsule, 450 mg NMN, 2 mg ergothioneine, 50 mg trans-resveratrol, 25 mg olive fruit extract and 10 mcg vitamin D3. Two capsules a day give 900 mg of NMN. 60 capsules, 30 servings, $88.00 one-time or $73.00 by subscription, $2.93 per serving, $0.33 per 100 mg of NMN.
Youngr matches the top dose of the Yi trial (900 mg a day) in one product and adds several other actives. The page showed 4.6 out of 5 from 424 reviews when we checked. The added ingredients are in small amounts, and the product as a whole has not been tested in a trial. At $88 a month it is the second most expensive product here per day. Our Wonderfeel Youngr NMN review covers the formula.
Suits: buyers who want 900 mg of NMN plus antioxidants in one product. Skip it if: you want a single-ingredient label or a lower monthly cost.
8. Life Extension NAD+ Cell Regenerator: the 300 mg NR dose
Key facts: 300 mg NR chloride (Niagen) per capsule, 30 capsules, one capsule per serving, $40.50 ($36.00 on AutoShip), $1.35 per serving, $0.45 per 100 mg.
One capsule matches the 300 mg arm of the 8-week Niagen trial, where whole-blood NAD+ rose 51% within two weeks, and the product page cites that figure. The page showed 4.8 out of 5 from 389 reviews when we checked. It ranks last on cost: $0.45 per 100 mg is the highest in this comparison, and a bottle lasts one month. Our Life Extension review covers the brand.
Suits: buyers who want a modest NR dose from a long-established brand. Skip it if: you want more precursor per dollar.
What the human trials show about NAD+ precursors
The research on NMN and NR is larger than for most longevity supplements, but most of it measures NAD+ in blood rather than health outcomes.
| Study | Who took part | Dose and length | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|
| Christen 2026, Nature Metabolism | 67 healthy adults randomized, 65 analyzed | 1,000 mg NR, 1,000 mg NMN, 500 mg nicotinamide or placebo, 14 days (open-label) | NR and NMN comparably raised whole-blood NAD+ (49.4 µM and 43.1 µM above placebo). Nicotinamide did not. |
| Yi 2023, GeroScience | 80 healthy middle-aged adults | NMN 300, 600 or 900 mg, or placebo, 60 days | Blood NAD+ rose in all NMN groups, highest at 600 and 900 mg. Six-minute walk distance improved more than placebo. No safety issues. |
| Liao 2021, Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition | 48 amateur runners | NMN 300, 600 or 1,200 mg, or placebo, 6 weeks with training | Oxygen uptake and ventilatory-threshold power rose more at 600 and 1,200 mg, but VO2max did not differ between groups. |
| Conze 2019, Scientific Reports | Healthy overweight adults | NR (Niagen) 100, 300 or 1,000 mg, or placebo, 8 weeks | Whole-blood NAD+ rose 22%, 51% and 142% within two weeks. No difference in adverse events from placebo, and LDL did not rise. |
| Martens 2018, Nature Communications | Healthy middle-aged and older adults | NR or placebo, 2 × 6-week crossover | Well tolerated and raised NAD+ metabolism. The authors called blood pressure effects a question for future trials. |
| Dollerup 2018, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition | 40 sedentary men with a BMI over 30 | NR 2,000 mg a day or placebo, 12 weeks | No improvement in insulin sensitivity or glucose metabolism. No serious adverse events. |
Evidence level: strong that NMN and NR raise blood NAD+ in people at 100 to 1,000 mg a day. Mixed for functional effects, with small gains in some trials (walking distance, exercise measures) and none in others (insulin sensitivity). What has not been shown: that either precursor slows aging or extends lifespan in people, or that raising blood NAD+ produces benefits you can feel. Our own products have not been tested as finished products in any trial.
How much NMN or NR should you take?
Follow the label of the product you buy, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medicines. For context, the trials above used these daily amounts:
- NMN: 300 to 900 mg a day in the 60-day Yi trial, where blood NAD+ was highest at 600 and 900 mg, and 1,000 mg a day in the head-to-head trial. One capsule of ours gives 500 mg, two give 1,000 mg.
- NR: 100 to 1,000 mg a day in the 8-week Niagen dose trial, 1,000 mg a day in the head-to-head trial, and 2,000 mg a day for 12 weeks in the Dollerup safety trial. One capsule of our NR gives 500 mg.
Higher doses raised blood NAD+ further in the dose trials, but no trial has shown that a bigger rise in blood NAD+ leads to a bigger benefit you can feel. Starting at a tested amount and staying there for 8 to 12 weeks is the cautious approach.
Safety: who should check first
In the trials above, NMN up to 900 mg a day and NR up to 2,000 mg a day were well tolerated, with no serious adverse events reported and, in the 8-week Niagen dose trial, no difference in adverse events from placebo. Most trials ran for weeks to a few months, so long-term data in people are limited.
- Talk to your doctor before you start if you take prescription medicines or are being treated for a medical condition.
- Do not use these products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or under 18, unless your doctor advises it, because they were not studied in those groups.
- Stop and seek advice if you notice any new symptoms after starting.
Our NMN safety guide goes through the human trial data on side effects in more detail.
What else we sell alongside an NAD+ precursor
Many people take an NAD+ precursor as part of a wider routine. Our Trans-Resveratrol 600mg comes in 90-capsule bottles at 600 mg per capsule. Resveratrol is not an NAD+ precursor, and our NMN vs resveratrol comparison explains how the two differ. Our VitaSolutions NMN + Resveratrol 1100mg ($35.00) combines the two, and the NMN Advanced Longevity Complex adds other actives to NMN in one capsule. Spermidine 10mg and Ca-AKG 500mg are other options in the same range. Buying them together means one delivery, and orders over $100 ship free.
If you want to read up first, see our guides to spermidine and what the research shows, the Ca-AKG evidence and pterostilbene dosing, a stilbene often paired with NR.
Frequently asked questions about NAD+ supplements
What is the most effective NAD supplement to take?
Our pick is Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg: 500 mg of NMN per capsule, a daily amount trials have tested, at $0.56 a day and $0.11 per 100 mg. In the only head-to-head trial, NMN and NR at 1,000 mg a day raised blood NAD+ by similar amounts, so the precursor matters less than taking a tested dose consistently. Tru Niagen Pro is the NR product from that trial.
Add NMN 500mg to cart · $49.99
Is NAD+ really worth taking?
It depends on what you expect. NMN and NR reliably raise blood NAD+ in human trials. Functional results are mixed: an 80-person NMN trial saw better walking distance than placebo, while a 12-week NR trial in men with a BMI over 30 found no change in insulin sensitivity. No trial has shown that either slows aging in people. If you take one, choose a tested dose and judge it over two to three months.
Which is better, NMN or NR?
In the 2026 head-to-head trial, 1,000 mg a day of each raised blood NAD+ by a similar amount over 14 days (49.4 µM for NR and 43.1 µM for NMN above placebo). NR has more published trials overall, and NMN is usually cheaper per milligram. In this comparison, NMN costs from $0.11 per 100 mg and NR from $0.20.
Which NAD does Joe Rogan take?
We could not verify what any public figure takes, and product choices shared on podcasts or social media change over time. A celebrity’s routine is not evidence that a product works. A better guide is whether the product gives a dose used in human trials, lists every ingredient, and shows testing you can check.
What NAD+ do the Kardashians use?
We could not verify a specific NAD+ product for any member of the family. As with any endorsement, the useful questions are the same: what dose does the product give, how does that compare with the trials, and what does it cost per 100 mg of precursor?
How much does an NAD+ supplement cost per month?
At label servings, a month costs about $16.66 for our NMN 500mg (a $49.99 bottle lasts 90 days), $30.00 for our NR, $39.97 for Toniiq, $37.00 for Thorne NiaCel, $40.50 for Life Extension, $43.30 for Renue, $88.00 for Wonderfeel and $116.00 for Tru Niagen Pro, as of Sep 2026.
Can I take NMN and resveratrol together?
Many people do, and we sell both separately and combined. Resveratrol is a polyphenol, not an NAD+ precursor, so it complements NMN rather than replacing it. There is no trial showing the pair works better than NMN alone.
How long does a bottle last?
It depends on capsules per serving more than capsule count. Our NMN 500mg lasts 90 days at one capsule a day, and our NR and Thorne NiaCel last 60 days, while Toniiq, Wonderfeel, Tru Niagen Pro and Life Extension last 30 days at their label servings.
Verdict: which NAD+ supplement should you buy?
- Our pick: Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg, $49.99 for 90 capsules, for a tested daily dose at $0.56 a day and three months per bottle.
- For the NR from the head-to-head trial: Tru Niagen Pro 1000mg at $116.00 for 30 servings.
- For a high NMN dose with a lot result: Toniiq NMN 1200 at $39.97, or less on subscription.
- For drug-tested athletes: Thorne NiaCel 400 at $74.00 for 60 servings.
- For the lowest-cost NR per 100 mg: Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg at $59.99 for 60 servings.
Whichever you choose, compare cost per 100 mg of precursor, check that the dose matches the trials, and give it a few months before you judge it.
