So the bottle labeled 300 holds 9 grams of NMN and the bottle labeled 1200 holds 36 grams — four times as much for $10 more.

The same convention trips people up on our side of the aisle, and it is worth naming. Two results are worth stating plainly. First, Toniiq NMN 1200 and Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg arrive at effectively the same figure — $1.11 per gram each, a difference of well under a cent.

A second randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in npj Aging gave 250 mg of NMN daily to healthy older men for 6 or 12 weeks. Chronic supplementation was well tolerated with no significant deleterious effects, and metabolomic analysis showed significantly increased blood NAD+ and NAD+ metabolite concentrations.

There were nominally significant improvements in gait speed and left-hand grip performance, which the authors explicitly said require validation in larger studies, and no significant effect on body composition (Igarashi et al., 2022, PMID 35927255). Three authors were employees of the company that funded the trial.
