Its product page links a lab report from Certified Group in Tustin, California, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab. The report, dated May 2026 for lot 26D0333, measured 652.86 mg of resveratrol per two capsules against a minimum of 600 mg, about 109% of the label. Lead came in at 0.04 mcg per two capsules, and arsenic, cadmium and mercury were not detected.

One caution if you look at Toniiq’s other bottle, Resveratrol 98% 1000 ($33.30 for 60 capsules, 1,000 mg per two capsules going by its name and directions). Its product page links the same lab report, whose target is 600 mg per two capsules, so we found no report on the page that matches the 1,000 mg product. The label is a single clear line with no blend. The brand says its extract is checked through the ProfileProven quality program run by its ingredient supplier, Ethical Naturals, but we found no lot report on the product page. Be careful with the name: Doctor’s Best also sells Trans-Resveratrol 200 and 100, which use a ResVinol blend of red wine matrix and knotweed and give 200 mg and 100 mg of trans-resveratrol.

What the human research on resveratrol shows

Resveratrol has far more animal data than human data, and the human trials that reported positive results used modest doses.

• Metabolism, 150 mg a day. In a randomized, double-blind crossover trial in Cell Metabolism (Timmers and colleagues, 2011), 11 healthy men with a high body mass index took 150 mg of resveratrol a day or a placebo for 30 days each. With resveratrol, resting and sleeping metabolic rate fell, several muscle markers linked to mitochondria rose, and blood glucose and triglycerides went down. The authors described the pattern as similar to calorie restriction.
• Bone density, 75 mg twice a day. In the RESHAW trial in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (Wong and colleagues, 2020), postmenopausal women took 75 mg of resveratrol twice daily or a placebo. After 12 months, bone mineral density in the lower spine and the hip was higher with resveratrol than with placebo.
• Absorption. In a study in Drug Metabolism and Disposition (Walle and colleagues, 2004), six volunteers took a 25 mg oral dose of labeled resveratrol. At least 70% was absorbed, but only trace amounts of unchanged resveratrol reached the blood, because the gut and liver convert it quickly.

Evidence level: a few small randomized human trials with different outcomes, plus absorption studies. Neither of the positive trials compared doses, so they don’t show that 600 mg or 1,000 mg a day does more than 150 mg. Resveratrol has not been shown to extend human lifespan, and none of the products in this list, ours included, has been tested in a published trial. Side effects and safety

The main high-dose safety data come from a 52-week trial in Neurology (Turner and colleagues, 2015) in 119 older adults with a memory-related brain condition. Doses started at 500 mg a day and rose to 1,000 mg twice a day. The authors judged resveratrol safe and well tolerated, and the most common side effects were nausea, diarrhea and weight loss. Brain volume also fell more with resveratrol than with placebo, a finding the authors said needs further study. Resveratrol may interact with some prescription medicines, so talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you start it if you take any, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

When to take resveratrol, and with what

Follow the directions on your label. Doctor’s Best says to take its capsule with meals, and Momentous suggests your evening meal. Two small human studies help explain the timing question.

In a randomized crossover study in the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (Vaz-da-Silva and colleagues, 2008), 24 healthy adults took a single 400 mg dose of trans-resveratrol once after a high-fat meal and once after fasting. Food slowed absorption, with the peak arriving at about two hours instead of half an hour. The total amount absorbed over time did not change in a meaningful way.

In a multiple-dose study in Molecular Nutrition & Food Research (Almeida and colleagues, 2009), healthy volunteers took 25 mg to 150 mg of trans-resveratrol six times a day for 13 doses. Blood levels stayed low even at the highest dose, the half-life was only a few hours, and absorption was higher after morning doses than later ones. Side effects were mild and similar across groups. Evidence level: small absorption studies that measured blood levels, not health outcomes. Taking resveratrol with a meal is a reasonable habit that doesn’t reduce how much you absorb, but these studies don’t show that timing changes any benefit.

How to choose a resveratrol supplement

• Find the trans amount. Look for trans-resveratrol in milligrams on the Supplement Facts panel, not the blend or extract weight on the front.
• Check the purity. A 98% figure means nearly all of the extract is resveratrol. A 50% extract gives half the labeled weight.
• Count the capsules. A “1,000 mg” product that takes two capsules gives 500 mg per capsule.
• Match your goal. To stay near the trial doses, 150 mg to 200 mg a day is the studied range. Higher amounts have not been shown to work better.
• Ask for the lab report. If one is posted, check that its product name, target and lot match the bottle you are buying.
• Read blend labels closely. A proprietary blend such as ResVinol or Resveratrol Elite should still state the trans-resveratrol inside it. If it doesn’t, you can’t compare it.
