Quick answer: Solaray is a Utah supplement maker that has sold vitamins and herbs since 1973. It makes its products in its own facility in Ogden and checks them in an in-house lab that it says runs up to 15,000 tests a month. For everyday vitamins and single herbs it is a fair, well-documented choice with a 60-day money-back guarantee. Its newer UNLIMIT longevity line is small, though: one NMN, one spermidine, two NAD+ products and a handful of others, with no TUDCA, Ca-AKG or nicotinamide riboside. For NMN, our pick is Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg. It has the same 500 mg per capsule as Solaray NMN, 90 capsules instead of 60, and costs $1.11 per gram of NMN against Solaray’s $1.27.
Eternal Elixir makes NMN 500mg and competes with Solaray, so read this as a competitor’s review. Every Solaray figure below comes from Solaray’s own product, quality and FAQ pages, read on September 25, 2026. We did not buy or test Solaray products. You can read how we write and review content.
Solaray review 2026: who makes it and what it sells
Solaray dates itself to 1973 and says it is part of Better Being Co., a group of wellness brands that make and distribute their own products. It manufactures in a 650,000-square-foot facility in Ogden, Utah. Its FAQ describes a range of more than 700 supplements, and the store’s product feed listed 645 items when we checked.
Most of that range is everyday nutrition. There are B, C and D vitamins, minerals such as magnesium and zinc, probiotics, amino acids and a long list of single herbs. You can buy it in health food stores, on Amazon and iHerb, and at solaray.com.
The part that matters to a longevity buyer is newer. Solaray groups eight products under a line it calls UNLIMIT:
- NMN, 500 mg per VegCap
- Liposomal NAD+, 500 mg per two VegCaps
- NADH, 10 mg per VegCap
- Spermidine, 3.3 mg per VegCap
- Fisetin, 250 mg per VegCap
- Liposomal Glutathione, 500 mg per two VegCaps
- PEAK ATP, 400 mg per VegCap
- Creatine + MBP, a creatine powder
That is a sensible starter shelf. It is also narrow next to a range built only around longevity actives. Our guide to the best longevity supplements in the US goes through those actives one by one.
How Solaray tests its supplements
Solaray publishes more detail about testing than many mainstream brands. Its quality page says:
- Scientists in its Ogden lab run up to 15,000 tests a month across more than 580 protocols.
- No skip-lot or repeat-lot testing of raw materials is allowed, so every incoming lot is tested.
- Ingredients are tested three times: with the supplier, at intake and again before bottling.
The FAQ adds that the lab meets ISO 17025:2017, the international standard for testing laboratories, and that its facilities meet the 455-2 GMP standard. The NMN, spermidine and NAD+ product pages each list six test categories: heavy metals, contaminants, microorganisms, identity, purity and potency. The Berberine 500mg page goes further. It says the product was bought anonymously and tested by SuppCo in outside labs against its label.
Most of this is Solaray testing its own products, which is not the same as an outside lab checking the bottle you buy. The berberine page is the one exception we found. We did not see batch certificates of analysis on the three UNLIMIT pages we read, so if a certificate matters to you, ask Solaray for the one that matches your lot number.
Solaray vs Eternal Elixir: doses and prices per capsule
A bottle price tells you little by itself. The fair comparison is how much of the active you get per capsule or per serving, and what that costs. These are the prices on each brand’s US store as of Sep 2026, before any multi-bottle discount.

Read the table one row at a time, because the answer changes with the ingredient.
- NMN. The dose per capsule is identical. Ours holds 30 more capsules, so it costs less per gram: $1.11 against $1.27. Our NMN supplement comparison runs the same maths across other US brands.
- Spermidine. Solaray costs less per capsule. Ours carries more spermidine per capsule once you convert the trihydrochloride salt on our label to spermidine itself: about 5.7 mg against 3.3 mg. Per milligram of spermidine, that comes to about $0.15 for ours and $0.19 for Solaray’s. Our spermidine supplement comparison lines up the doses across the category.
- Glutathione. Ours declares four times as much glutathione per two-capsule serving. Solaray’s liposomal version wraps the glutathione in sunflower phospholipids, which it says is meant to help absorption. The studies further down tested both forms.
- Berberine. Solaray is cheaper per capsule, and we will not pretend otherwise. Its page describes 250 mg of berberine from Indian barberry plus 270 mg from Oregon grape, while ours declares 500 mg of berberine HCl in one capsule. The two labels describe the dose in different ways, so compare the Supplement Facts panels side by side. Our berberine supplement guide explains what to look for.
Buying two or more bottles of any of ours takes 10% off two, 15% off three and 20% off five, and US orders over $100 ship free.
What the research says about these doses
Our product pages state an evidence level for each active, so we apply the same test to Solaray here. Its NMN and spermidine pages call their doses “clinically studied” but do not name the trial behind that line. The only study cited in the text of the three UNLIMIT pages we read is a 1996 analysis of 2,872 Danish twin pairs on how much of lifespan is inherited. It says nothing about any supplement.
NMN: small human trials, blood NAD+ markers
A dose-ranging trial published in GeroScience in 2023 (Yi and colleagues) randomized 80 healthy middle-aged adults to a placebo or to 300 mg, 600 mg or 900 mg of NMN once a day for 60 days. Blood NAD+ rose in every NMN group compared with placebo, and it was highest at 600 mg and 900 mg. Walking distance in a six-minute test also improved more than placebo in all three NMN groups. The researchers found no safety issues up to 900 mg a day. Three of the authors were employees of two chemical companies, Abinopharm and ABA Chemicals, which is worth knowing when you read the results.
Solaray’s 500 mg a day sits between the 300 mg and 600 mg arms, and one capsule of ours is the same 500 mg. Neither label dose was tested directly in that trial.
Evidence level: small randomized human trials that measured blood NAD+ and short-term physical function. NMN has not been shown to extend human lifespan.
Spermidine: one long trial, primary goal missed
The SmartAge trial, published in JAMA Network Open in 2022 (Schwarz and colleagues), gave 100 adults aged 60 to 90 with subjective cognitive decline either 0.9 mg of spermidine a day from a wheat germ extract or a placebo for 12 months. Eighty-nine finished the study. Memory performance, the primary outcome, did not change significantly compared with placebo.
Solaray’s 3.3 mg and our roughly 5.7 mg are both higher than the 0.9 mg in that trial. No human trial has shown that a higher spermidine dose works better, and none has shown that spermidine extends human lifespan.
Evidence level: limited. One 12-month human trial that missed its primary memory endpoint.
Glutathione: two small trials, both forms
In a six-month randomized, placebo-controlled trial in the European Journal of Nutrition (Richie and colleagues, 2015), 54 non-smoking adults took 250 mg or 1,000 mg of oral glutathione a day. At six months, glutathione in red blood cells, plasma and lymphocytes had risen 30 to 35% in the 1,000 mg group. Levels went back to baseline after a one-month break.
A one-month pilot study of liposomal glutathione in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Sinha and colleagues, 2018) gave 12 healthy adults 500 mg or 1,000 mg a day. Blood glutathione rose within a week and peaked at two weeks. The study was funded by a company that sells liposomal glutathione.
Solaray’s 500 mg liposomal serving matches the lower dose in the pilot. Our 2,000 mg serving is above the doses tested in both trials, and neither trial shows that more is better. Our glutathione supplement comparison covers reduced and liposomal forms from other brands.
Evidence level: small human trials that measured body glutathione stores.
NAD+ and NADH
Solaray’s Liposomal NAD+ and NADH pages do not cite a human trial of either product. The NMN trial above tested a precursor that the body turns into NAD+, not NAD+ taken by mouth. Our NAD+ supplement guide compares NMN with nicotinamide riboside, the other main precursor.
Evidence level: not shown by the sources on Solaray’s pages.

What Solaray does not sell
We searched Solaray’s full product feed on September 25, 2026. It had no TUDCA, no Ca-AKG, no nicotinamide riboside and no methylene blue. It does sell resveratrol, including a formula that combines resveratrol with pterostilbene, plus glutathione and fisetin.
TUDCA is the gap most longevity buyers notice first. If a bile acid is part of your routine, Solaray cannot supply it, and you will be ordering from two brands either way. Our TUDCA supplement comparison lists the US brands that sell it. Ca-AKG is the second gap, and our Ca-AKG supplement guide compares the doses on offer.
How Solaray compares with other brands we’ve reviewed
Like Solaray, NOW Foods and Source Naturals sell large vitamin and herb ranges. Our NOW Foods review looks at value, testing and dose limits, and our Source Naturals review covers doses and prices. For premium brands, see our Thorne review and Life Extension review. At the budget end, our Nutricost review and BulkSupplements review weigh low prices against what you give up.
Who should buy Solaray, and who shouldn’t
Solaray suits you if you mainly want vitamins, minerals and single herbs from a brand that makes its own products and explains its testing. It also suits you if you like to pick up a bottle at a local health food store, or if a long return window matters: its guarantee runs 60 days, and ours runs 30. Its berberine is cheap per capsule. Its ginseng choice is wide, with four products that cover Korean, fermented Korean and American ginseng root.
Look elsewhere if your routine is built around longevity actives. You will need a second supplier for TUDCA, Ca-AKG or nicotinamide riboside. You pay more per gram for Solaray’s NMN than for ours, and you get less spermidine and less glutathione per serving. If ginseng brought you here, our Korean Panax Ginseng 1600mg is standardized to 5% ginsenosides, with two capsules per serving and 45 servings for $44.99, or $1.00 per serving.
Solaray review: frequently asked questions
Are Solaray supplements high quality?
For a mainstream brand, Solaray documents its process better than most. It makes its products in its own Utah facility, says its lab runs up to 15,000 tests a month and tests every raw material lot, and says the lab meets ISO 17025:2017. Most of that testing is its own, and we did not see batch certificates on the longevity pages we read. Its longevity doses are ordinary for the category rather than high.
Is Solaray made in China?
Solaray says its products are “made in Utah with global ingredients.” It manufactures in Ogden, Utah, and its quality page lists 375 ingredient suppliers in 61 countries. It also says it makes “the majority” of its products in-house, so not every product comes from its own plant. The product pages we read do not give a country of origin for each ingredient, so ask Solaray if that matters for a specific product.
Is Solaray better than Nature Made?
They suit different buyers. Nature Made, owned by Pharmavite, focuses on everyday vitamins, minerals and gummies, and it says it has more products verified by an outside standards program than any other supplement brand. Solaray relies mainly on its own lab, sells many single herbs and has a small longevity line with NMN and spermidine. For a basic multivitamin, Nature Made’s outside verification is a real advantage. For herbs or longevity actives, Solaray gives you more to choose from.
What is the most trustworthy supplement company?
No company earns that title for every product. Check four things instead: the exact amount of each active per serving, whether that amount matches what human trials used, whether an outside lab has tested the finished product, and whether the brand says what hasn’t been shown. We apply those checks to Solaray in this review. Our own product pages state the evidence level for each active, so you can apply the same checks to us.
Is Solaray third-party tested?
Partly. Solaray’s own lab tests its raw materials and products, and the company says its facilities meet the 455-2 GMP standard. Its Berberine 500mg page says that product was bought anonymously and tested by SuppCo in outside labs. We did not find a similar outside test on the NMN, spermidine or NAD+ pages.
How much NMN is in Solaray NMN?
Solaray NMN has 500 mg per VegCap, with directions of one VegCap a day, and 60 VegCaps for $38.19. That works out to $1.27 per gram of NMN. Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg has the same 500 mg per capsule in a 90-capsule bottle for $49.99, or $1.11 per gram.
Add NMN 500mg to cart · $49.99
What does Solaray not cover for a longevity stack?
TUDCA, Ca-AKG, nicotinamide riboside and methylene blue were all missing from its product feed on September 25, 2026. It also sells one NMN strength and one spermidine strength, so there is no higher-dose option in either. Our roundup of the best TUDCA supplements in the US covers the brands that do sell TUDCA.
Does Solaray have a money-back guarantee?
Yes. Solaray’s FAQ describes a 60-day money-back guarantee that covers open and unopened products. You claim it by emailing the company within 60 days of purchase. Eternal Elixir offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
What is the best alternative to Solaray for longevity supplements?
Our pick is Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg, which we make. It has the same 500 mg per capsule as Solaray NMN and 90 capsules per bottle, and it costs less per gram: $1.11 against $1.27. If you also want TUDCA or Ca-AKG, which Solaray does not sell, we carry both. For basic vitamins and herbs, Solaray is still a fair choice.

Our verdict on Solaray
Solaray has been around since 1973, makes its own products in Utah, explains its testing in unusual detail and backs purchases with a 60-day guarantee. It is a good fit for vitamins, minerals and herbs, and its berberine is cheap per capsule. The UNLIMIT longevity line is small and sits at ordinary doses, with no TUDCA or Ca-AKG. If NMN is what you came for, our NMN 500mg gives you the same dose per capsule and 30 more capsules for $11.80 more.
