Every row uses the same unit: US dollars per serving at the label’s own serving size, as of Sep 2026. Four of these products use a two- or three-capsule serving, so a price per capsule would make them look cheaper than they are.

Two things stand out. The cheapest products per serving are the two with the strongest human evidence for their jobs: creatine at $0.24 and a standardized tongkat ali at $0.33. How we ordered this list

Most roundups rank on one blended score, which makes little sense when the products do different jobs. A creatine powder and an NMN capsule cannot be first and second on the same scale. So this list follows the four things men in their forties most often shop for: NAD+ and cellular energy, testosterone support, glucose and lipid metabolism, and muscle.

Eternal Elixir makes NMN 500mg, and it is our pick at #1. Entries 2 to 4 are the best-evidenced product for each of the other three jobs, including two we do not make. Entries 5 to 9 are alternatives and add-ons from our range, and entry 10 is the mainstream NMN most US buyers meet. Within that, we weighed four things for every product, ours included:

• Human evidence for the ingredient: randomized trials in people, and how close the label dose is to what they used.

1. Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg: our pick overall

Key facts: 500 mg beta-nicotinamide mononucleotide per capsule, 90 capsules, 1 capsule per serving, 90 servings, $49.99 (regular $64.99), $0.56 per serving, $0.11 per 100 mg of NMN. Other ingredients: rice flour and a cellulose capsule.

NAD+ is a coenzyme every cell uses to turn food into energy, and NMN is one of the compounds the body converts into it. Eternal Elixir NMN 500mg states 500 mg per capsule on the front label, with one capsule per serving. There is no multi-capsule serving to decode, and a bottle lasts 90 days.

The human evidence is real but narrow. In an 80-person, 60-day trial in healthy middle-aged adults, 300, 600 or 900 mg of NMN a day raised blood NAD+ against placebo, with the highest levels at 600 and 900 mg, and six-minute walking distance improved in all three NMN groups (Yi 2023). A 2026 meta-analysis of 15 trials, at 250 to 2,000 mg a day for 14 days to 24 weeks, found no increase in adverse events. It also found no significant effect on body weight, fasting glucose, HbA1c, lipids or systolic blood pressure (Yang 2026).

Here is where our dose sits. One capsule is 500 mg, between the 300 mg and 600 mg arms of the Yi trial. That is inside the range the meta-analysis covered, but below the doses that produced the highest NAD+ levels. Our product page also states that this finished product has not been clinically tested.

Evidence level: good for raising blood NAD+, early for physical performance, not shown for weight, blood sugar or lifespan.

2. Nootropics Depot Tongkat Ali 2% Eurycomanone: best standardized tongkat ali

Key facts: 200 mg Eurycoma longifolia root extract per capsule, standardized to 2% eurycomanone by UPLC, 1 capsule daily with food, 60 capsules, $19.99, $0.33 per serving.

For testosterone support, tongkat ali is the ingredient on this list with the most human data, and this is the version that best matches how it was tested. A 2022 meta-analysis of five randomized trials found that tongkat ali raised total testosterone in men (Leisegang 2022). The most relevant single trial gave 105 men aged 50 to 70, all with total testosterone under 300 ng/dL, 100 mg or 200 mg a day of a standardized water extract called Physta, or placebo, for 12 weeks. Total testosterone rose against placebo at week 12 on 100 mg, and from week 4 on 200 mg. Free testosterone did not differ between groups (Chinnappan 2021).

Nootropics Depot’s capsule is 200 mg of extract standardized to a measured compound, eurycomanone, with lot certificates of analysis linked on the page. It is not Physta, so the trial results do not transfer to it automatically. But a 200 mg standardized extract is much closer to the trial material than a large ratio extract. Shipping is free on US orders over $50.

• Suits: men whose main goal is testosterone support at the lowest cost, with a named standardization.
• Doesn’t suit: anyone who wants to buy the rest of a routine in the same order.

3. Eternal Elixir Berberine HCl 500mg: glucose and lipid metabolism support

Key facts: 500 mg berberine HCl per capsule from a 20:1 concentrate (the label states this equals 10,000 mg of starting powder), 90 capsules, 1 capsule per serving, 90 servings, $49.99, $0.56 per serving.

Many men meet this pillar through a blood test rather than a search. Eternal Elixir Berberine HCl 500mg is a single-active capsule with the extract ratio stated plainly. The 20:1 figure describes how concentrated the extract is, not 10,000 mg of material inside the capsule.

The research is substantial but comes mostly from people whose blood sugar or blood lipids were already high. A 2015 meta-analysis pooled 27 randomized trials with 2,569 participants. Berberine plus lifestyle changes lowered glucose and lipid measures more than lifestyle changes alone, and no serious adverse reactions were reported. In a pilot trial, adults took 500 mg three times a day for three months, and 20 participants (34.5%) had passing stomach upset (Yin 2008).

Evidence level: moderate for glucose and lipid markers in adults with raised levels, at higher doses than one capsule. Not studied well in men with normal blood work.

4. Nutricost Creatine Monohydrate: best-evidenced for muscle, with training

Key facts: micronized creatine monohydrate powder, 5 g per scoop, unflavored 500 g tub (100 servings) for $23.97, $0.24 per serving. A 300 g tub is $18.97 and a 1 kg tub $46.97.

We do not sell creatine, and it belongs on this list anyway. Muscle mass falls with age, and creatine has some of the most consistent human evidence of any supplement for adding lean mass when you lift. A 2022 meta-analysis of 35 randomized trials with 1,192 participants found creatine plus resistance training added 1.10 kg of lean mass on average, regardless of age. Without exercise it made no difference, and men gained more than women (Delpino 2022).

Nutricost’s unflavored tub is the cheapest serving on this list. The page states 5 g per scoop and includes the scoop.

Key facts: 2,000 mg Eurycoma longifolia root extract at a stated 200:1 ratio per 3-capsule serving, 90 capsules, 30 servings, $29.99 (regular $59.99), $1.00 per serving.

Eternal Elixir Tongkat Ali 200:1 Extract 2000mg is the tongkat ali to choose if you want it in the same order as the rest of your routine. The label names the species, the root, the ratio and the serving, with rice flour and a cellulose capsule as the only other ingredients.

Be clear about what the numbers mean. A 200:1 ratio describes how much root went into the extract. It is not a eurycomanone percentage, so it does not tell you how much of the measured marker compound is inside. The trials above used 100 to 200 mg a day of a standardized water extract. Our 2,000 mg serving is a much larger weight of a differently specified extract, and no trial has tested it. More milligrams on the front of a bottle is not evidence of a stronger effect.

6. Eternal Elixir Korean Panax Ginseng 1600mg: an adaptogen route for energy

Key facts: 1,600 mg Korean red Panax ginseng root extract standardized to a minimum of 5% ginsenosides per 2-capsule serving, 90 capsules, 45 servings, $44.99, $1.00 per serving.

Not every man over 40 wants a botanical aimed at testosterone. Eternal Elixir Korean Panax Ginseng 1600mg is the alternative for general energy. It declares the plant part (root) and a minimum ginsenoside content, which matters because ginsenosides are the compounds most ginseng research measures.

A 2018 systematic review of 10 studies on Asian and American ginseng for fatigue found modest evidence of benefit and a low risk of adverse events. Most of those studies enrolled people with long-term illness, and the authors called for stronger trials in more varied groups (Arring 2018). Results depend on the preparation and dose, so research on one extract does not carry over to another.

Key facts: per 2-capsule serving, 500 mg NMN, 250 mg TMG (betaine anhydrous), 200 mg pterostilbene, 100 mg trans-resveratrol, 100 mg quercetin phytosome and 50 mg apigenin, for 1,200 mg of combined actives. 60 capsules, 30 servings, $64.99 (regular $79.99), $2.17 per serving.

If four bottles on the counter is why your last routine lasted three weeks, the NMN Advanced Longevity Complex puts the same 500 mg of NMN as entry 1 into one serving with five other actives. The label is clear that 1,200 mg is the combined total, not the NMN dose. Our product page also states that this exact six-ingredient formula has not been clinically tested.

The trade-off is cost and control. At $2.17 a serving it costs almost four times the standalone NMN, and the ratios are fixed. It is good value if you want all six actives and poor value if you want two.

Key facts: per 3-capsule serving, 1,500 mg Fadogia agrestis 10:1 stem extract, 500 mg tongkat ali and 10 mg BioPerine. 90 capsules, 30 servings, $19.99 (regular $59.99), $0.67 per serving.

Eternal Elixir Tongkat Ali + Fadogia 2010mg itemizes each ingredient, so you know what the 2,010 mg is made of, and it is the lowest-priced bottle in our men’s range.

The two botanicals have very different evidence. Tongkat ali has the human trials described above. Fadogia agrestis has none that we could find. Its testosterone reputation comes from rats: a 5-day study at 18 to 100 mg/kg raised testosterone (Yakubu 2005), and a 28-day study by the same group found changes in testicular function markers that the authors called adverse (Yakubu 2008). Momentous, a US supplement brand, says it pulled fadogia from its range in 2024 because the research was not progressing to its standards. We state this so you can decide. 9. Eternal Elixir Ca-AKG 500mg: an add-on once the basics are covered

Key facts: 500 mg calcium alpha-ketoglutarate per capsule, 60 capsules, 1 capsule per serving, 60 servings, $49.99, $0.83 per serving.

Alpha-ketoglutarate is a compound in the cycle cells use to make energy. Eternal Elixir Ca-AKG 500mg is a single-active capsule, and our own product page says human longevity outcomes have not been established. The best-known human data is a retrospective analysis of 42 people who took an alpha-ketoglutarate formula with vitamins for an average of 7 months and showed a lower DNA-methylation age. There was no placebo group, the formula was not ours, and one author advises the company that sells it (Demidenko 2021).

• Suits: men who already cover the basics and want to add an ingredient with early data.

10. Double Wood NMN Supplement: a known US brand, with a label conflict

Key facts: $48.95 one bottle. The supplement facts panel (shown on the Vitacost listing) gives 250 mg NMN per 2-capsule serving, 60 capsules, 30 servings, which works out to $1.63 per serving and $0.65 per 100 mg of NMN.

Double Wood is one of the better-known US supplement brands, and its NMN page shows 149 reviews averaging about 4.69 (read Sep 2026) and links lot certificates of analysis. The problem is the label. The page says 250 mg per serving in two places and tells you to take two capsules a day, but one line says each capsule delivers 250 mg. The facts panel settles it at 250 mg per two capsules. On that basis, the same money buys about one-sixth of the NMN in our bottle.

They do different jobs. Tongkat ali has a meta-analysis showing higher total testosterone in men, so it suits drive and training goals. Does tongkat ali raise testosterone?

In trials, yes, modestly. A 2022 meta-analysis of five randomized trials found higher total testosterone with tongkat ali. Those results apply to standardized extracts at those doses.

Is Fadogia agrestis safe?

It has not been tested in human trials that we could find. In rats, a 28-day study found changes in testicular function markers that the researchers called adverse, with partial recovery at the lowest dose. What is the difference between a 200:1 extract and a percentage standardization?

A 200:1 ratio says how much raw root went into the extract. A standardization such as 2% eurycomanone says how much of a specific measured compound is in it, usually checked by a named test method.
