Quick answer: Pure Encapsulations is a practitioner-focused vitamin brand owned by Nestlé Health Science, known for formulas free from unnecessary additives and many common allergens. Its prices sit at the top of the market. Its ratings split: 2.5 out of 5 from 14 reviews on Trustpilot, mostly about ordering and service, against 4.5 to 4.9 on its own product pages. Its NAD+ product, NR Longevity, gives 300 mg of nicotinamide riboside (NR) with 150 mg of trans-resveratrol and 800 mcg of sulforaphane per two-capsule serving, at $65 for 60 capsules, or $2.17 a serving. For NAD+ support, our pick is Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg: 500 mg of NR chloride per capsule, 60 capsules, $1.00 a serving.
Eternal Elixir makes supplements that compete with Pure Encapsulations, including Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg, which is our pick for NAD+ support in this review. We did not test Pure Encapsulations products ourselves. Their figures come from the brand’s consumer store and professional site, read in September 2026, and every study claim links to its source. Here is how we write and review content.
Pure Encapsulations at a glance
| What we checked | What we found (Sep 2026) |
|---|---|
| Owner | Nestlé Health Science |
| Where it sells | Healthcare practitioners through a professional site, and consumers through its own store, pureforyou.com |
| Positioning | Formulas free from unnecessary additives and many common allergens |
| Range | More than 400 product listings on its consumer store |
| NAD+ product | NR Longevity, $65.00 for 60 capsules |
| Shipping | Product pages show free shipping in 1 to 4 business days |
| Returns | The store’s refund policy page says product returns and credits will not be granted |
| Trustpilot | 2.5 out of 5 from 14 reviews, profile unclaimed |
| Ratings on its own product pages | 4.5 to 4.9 out of 5 on the products we checked |
Pure Encapsulations ratings: why they look contradictory
The two sets of ratings measure different things. The brand’s Trustpilot profile had a TrustScore of 2.5 out of 5 from 14 reviews when we checked: 64% one-star and 29% five-star, on a profile the company has not claimed. The complaints are mostly about the buying experience, such as lost or late parcels, coupon disputes, unresponsive support, short expiry dates and high prices.
The ratings on its own product pages come from people rating the capsules. Here is what the store showed in September 2026:
| Product | Rating on pureforyou.com | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium (glycinate) | 4.85 out of 5 | 1,528 |
| O.N.E. Multivitamin | 4.79 out of 5 | 506 |
| CoQ10 120 mg | 4.86 out of 5 | 74 |
| Berberine UltraSorb | 4.70 out of 5 | 56 |
| Reduced Glutathione | 4.61 out of 5 | 31 |
| NR Longevity | 4.85 out of 5 | 20 |
A score from 14 merchant reviews moves a lot with each new complaint. On-site product reviews are collected and displayed by the brand itself. Read together, they say the capsules are well liked and the direct-buying experience divides people. Neither tells you whether a product gives you a useful dose for the money, and that is the question the rest of this review answers.
Who owns Pure Encapsulations?
Pure Encapsulations is a Nestlé Health Science brand, listed on Nestlé Health Science’s own brand pages. The brand says it has spent 30 years developing its line, and it describes every product as made with high-quality, pure ingredients and free from unnecessary additives and many common allergens. It also calls itself the most recommended professional supplement brand, citing its own surveys.
It runs two storefronts. Healthcare practitioners and their patients use a professional site, and consumers buy from pureforyou.com. Its homepage asks visitors to pick one of the two before showing products.

Pure Encapsulations prices
These are the consumer store’s list prices in September 2026. Serving directions come from each product page.
| Product | Bottle | Price | Label directions |
|---|---|---|---|
| O.N.E. Multivitamin | 30 / 60 / 120 capsules | $25.00 / $48.50 / $92.00 | 1 capsule daily with food |
| Magnesium (glycinate) | 90 capsules | $27.00 | 1 to 4 capsules daily |
| Resveratrol | 60 capsules | $28.50 | 1 to 5 capsules daily |
| Reduced Glutathione | 60 capsules | $34.50 | 1 capsule, 1 to 2 times daily |
| Berberine UltraSorb | 60 capsules | $51.50 | 1 capsule, 1 to 2 times daily |
| CoQ10 120 mg | 60 capsules | $69.50 | 1 capsule, 1 to 2 times daily |
| Niacinamide | 90 capsules | $21.00 | 2 capsules, 1 to 3 times daily |
| NR Longevity | 60 capsules | $65.00 | 2 capsules, 1 to 2 times daily |
The O.N.E. Multivitamin works out to $0.83 a day in the 30-count bottle and $0.77 in the 120-count. Several products use ranges such as “1 to 4 capsules”, so the real cost per day depends on how many you take. Its Longevity Nutrients formula was listed as sold out in both sizes.
NR Longevity: Pure Encapsulations’ NAD+ formula
NR Longevity is the product that brings NAD+ shoppers to the brand. Each two-capsule serving contains 300 mg of nicotinamide riboside chloride as NIAGEN, 200 mg of broccoli sprout concentrate standardized to 800 mcg of sulforaphane, and 150 mg of trans-resveratrol from Japanese knotweed. The label says to take two capsules, one to two times daily, and a bottle holds 60 capsules. The capsules are vegan.
At one serving a day, a bottle lasts 30 days and costs $2.17 a day. At the top of the directions, two servings a day, it lasts 15 days and costs $4.33 a day for 600 mg of NR.
The logic is reasonable: an NAD+ precursor, a polyphenol and a sulforaphane source in one bottle. The catch is that the three doses move together, and 300 mg of NR is under a third of the 1,000 mg a day used in the human trials below. Nobody has tested this combination as a finished product.
What the NAD+ research shows
| Study | Who and how many | Dose and length | Main finding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Martens, 2018 | 30 healthy middle-aged and older adults | NR chloride 500 mg twice daily, 6 weeks, crossover | Well tolerated, NAD+ in blood cells about 60% higher than placebo |
| Elhassan, 2019 | 12 older men | NR 1 g a day, 21 days, crossover | Raised NAD+ metabolites in muscle, lower inflammatory markers, no change in mitochondrial function |
| Christen, 2026 | 65 healthy adults analyzed | NR 1,000 mg, NMN 1,000 mg or nicotinamide 500 mg a day, 14 days | NR and NMN roughly doubled blood NAD+, nicotinamide did not |
In the first trial, NR raised NAD+ in blood cells by about 60% against placebo, and the authors pointed to blood pressure and arterial stiffness as ideas for future trials, not as results (Martens and colleagues, Nature Communications, 2018). The second showed NR reaches aged human muscle (Elhassan and colleagues, Cell Reports, 2019). Evidence level: small controlled trials measuring NAD+ markers, not aging outcomes.
A Nestlé trial that used Pure Encapsulations products
The first head-to-head human trial of NAD+ precursors was run by Nestlé Research, part of the same company that owns Pure Encapsulations (Christen and colleagues, Nature Metabolism, 2026). It randomized 67 healthy adults to 1,000 mg of NR (Tru Niagen Pro), 1,000 mg of NMN, 500 mg of nicotinamide from Pure Encapsulations, or a Pure Encapsulations cellulose placebo, for 14 days. After two weeks, NR raised whole-blood NAD+ by 49.4 µM and NMN by 43.1 µM compared with placebo. The Pure Encapsulations nicotinamide did not raise it significantly (p = 0.461).
The trial was open-label, meaning participants knew what they took, and most authors were Nestlé employees. It tested plain nicotinamide, not NR Longevity. It does show that the precursor you choose matters, and that NR at 1,000 mg a day raised blood NAD+ in two weeks.
Cost per serving: NR Longevity against single-ingredient NR
Here is what you pay for the NR itself, as of Sep 2026. NR comes as different salts, so compare within the same form where you can.
| Product | NR per label serving | Capsules | Price | Cost per serving | Buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg (our pick) | 500 mg NR chloride (1 capsule) | 60 | $59.99 | $1.00 | View product |
| Pure Encapsulations NR Longevity | 300 mg NR chloride (2 capsules), plus resveratrol and sulforaphane | 60 | $65.00 | $2.17 | Pure Encapsulations |
| Thorne NiaCel 400 | 415 mg NR hydrogen malate (1 capsule), plus 85 mg betaine | 60 | $74.00 | $1.23 | Thorne |
Add Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg to cart · $59.99
Measured by the NR chloride alone, NR Longevity costs about $0.0072 per milligram and our capsule about $0.0020, roughly 3.6 times less. That comparison leaves out the resveratrol and sulforaphane in NR Longevity. If you want NR plus resveratrol, our Trans-Resveratrol 600mg costs $0.67 a serving, so 500 mg of NR and 600 mg of trans-resveratrol come to $1.67 a day, against $2.17 for 300 mg of NR and 150 mg of resveratrol in NR Longevity. We do not sell a sulforaphane product.
Plainly, on our own dose: our label serving is one 500 mg capsule, half the 1,000 mg a day used in the trials above. Two capsules match that trial dose for $2.00 a day, which is below the $4.33 a day of NR Longevity at its top dose of 600 mg of NR.
We found no trial of NR and resveratrol taken together as supplements. The pairing simply mirrors the two main actives in NR Longevity at doses you can set yourself.
Pure Encapsulations pros and cons
Pros:
- Formulas free from unnecessary additives and many common allergens, a policy stated across the range
- A wide catalog, with more than 400 listings on its consumer store
- Well-rated products on its own pages, including 4.85 out of 5 from 1,528 reviews for magnesium glycinate
- NR Longevity uses NIAGEN NR in a vegan capsule
- Free shipping shown on product pages
Cons:
- Premium pricing, and NR Longevity costs about 3.6 times more per milligram of NR than a single 500 mg NR capsule
- NR Longevity’s 300 mg of NR is under a third of the trial dose, and its three doses cannot be adjusted separately
- The consumer store’s refund policy page says returns and credits will not be granted
- A 2.5 out of 5 Trustpilot score, with complaints about delivery, coupons and support
Who Pure Encapsulations suits, and who it doesn’t
It suits you if you value free-from formulas and practitioner backing above cost per milligram, if your clinician already recommends the line, or if you want NR, resveratrol and sulforaphane in one bottle at fixed ratios. Its micronutrient products, such as the O.N.E. Multivitamin and magnesium glycinate, carry large numbers of positive reviews on its own site.
It does not suit you if you want trial-level doses of NR, want to raise one ingredient without the others, or buy on price per milligram. For NAD+ support specifically, our pick is Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg, with a single declared dose and a 60-day supply at one capsule a day.

Pure Encapsulations review FAQ
Is Pure Encapsulations a good brand?
For vitamins and minerals, its products are well rated on its own site and widely used by practitioners. It is expensive, and its Trustpilot score is 2.5 out of 5 from 14 reviews. For NAD+ support, its NR Longevity gives less NR per dollar than single-ingredient NR capsules.
Who owns Pure Encapsulations?
Nestlé Health Science owns and markets Pure Encapsulations. Nestlé Research also ran the 2026 head-to-head NAD+ trial that used Pure Encapsulations nicotinamide and placebo capsules.
Is Pure Encapsulations third-party tested?
The brand says its supplements are carefully manufactured and tested to make sure they are free from unnecessary additives and many common allergens. It does not publish lot-by-lot results on the consumer product pages we checked, so we cannot confirm who does the testing.
Which is better, Thorne or Pure Encapsulations?
They are close peers with different strengths. For NR specifically, Thorne NiaCel 400 gives 415 mg of NR hydrogen malate per capsule for $74, and is part of NSF’s sport testing program. Pure Encapsulations NR Longevity gives 300 mg of NR chloride per two capsules for $65, with resveratrol and sulforaphane added.
What are the drawbacks of Pure Encapsulations?
Price is the main one. Its NAD+ formula has a low NR dose that you cannot adjust on its own. Its consumer store’s refund policy page says returns and credits will not be granted, and Trustpilot reviewers complain about delivery and support.
Is NR Longevity worth it?
It is a convenient three-ingredient bottle. As an NR purchase, it costs about 3.6 times more per milligram than a 500 mg NR capsule, and 300 mg is under a third of the dose used in human NR trials.
What is the best NAD+ supplement for most people?
Our pick is Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg: 500 mg of NR chloride per capsule, 60 capsules, $1.00 a serving. NR and NMN raised blood NAD+ by similar amounts in the 2026 head-to-head trial, so dose and price per milligram matter more than the brand name.

The bottom line on Pure Encapsulations
Pure Encapsulations is a well-made, well-reviewed vitamin brand with premium prices and a thin NAD+ offering. NR Longevity is convenient but gives 300 mg of NR for $2.17 a serving. If NAD+ support is what you are after, our pick is Eternal Elixir Nicotinamide Riboside 500mg, and you can take two capsules to match the trial dose for $2.00 a day.
